Medway Eyes started out as an informal umbrella organisation and is now a charity. We support, promote and collaborate with Medway artists and venues. We've put on numerous exhibitions and many gigs, often for good causes. We've been to college, engaged in important local issues, put out two cracking compilations of Medway music (ME1 and ME2 - see left) and even set up The Medway Broadside, an independent news and culture website and print publication.
We have a fair trade ethic. We don't exploit artists, because we are artists ourselves.
We don't support venues that rip off bands, treat them like cattle and fail to respect customers.
We are independent and do not receive funding. We operate on a break-even basis.
We are affiliated to Oxjam.
This site will feature a page for every event we put on, and we will occasionally include feature pages, not necessarily about us, but perhaps just about something that catches our Medway Eye.
You can contact us at medwayeyes@gmail.com, find us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and keep up to date with developments by subscribing to our Wordpress blog.
People jump in and out of Medway Eyes. That means that an artist who has contributed to one project may not necessarily support the political views expressed by another, or by the Medway Eyes core team.
